The Triplets

The triplets are very special to Bow Tie Panther as they were the three who saved Abed’s bonded pair, Rái Cá, from the deep depression she fell into after witnessing his death. They were on a farm in Sacramento and both Freya and Bao Bao had been badly injured and Chihiro was traumatized seeing the attacks. They very quickly took to Rái Cá as being their mama and would not leave her alone no matter where she tried to hide away! She accepted the role and became very protective and loving of them.

We have debated on keeping them with the Bow Tie Panther group because of their closeness with the other cats and Rái Cá. But for some reason after two years, Rái Cá has felt they are officially grown and has begun to aggressively reject them as a mother figure, even though they still want to be her babies. This has caused behavioral issues in Bao Bao and Freya that is starting to to feel like bullying to the other kitties, and they now have some weight issues as well. They are the sweetest cats who love to lounge in between your legs, watch out the window, and talk to you about anything and everything. And they expect you to talk back!

We hope to find a family who doesn’t have any current kitties, are willing to re-evaluate their plant situation, as farm kitties they love to destroy plants and roll in dirt. All three are fine in apartment living and do not have the habit of knocking things over to break them. All the triplets are open to being in backpacks, but prefer not to and enjoy stroller rides if they can go together. Bao Bao and Freya are definitely more bonded to one another, but all three are still quite close.

We are willing to discuss the adoption of just Bao Bao and Freya if there is a good fit as their comfort is currently our priority.

Freya (Frøja)

  • Loves to cuddle, you can carry her like a baby.

  • Bit of a chonk due to being a bit of a bully, but doesn’t bully her siblings.

  • Has a permanently broken front left paw, but it doesn’t impact her mobility. Just don’t touch it too much please!

  • Gives love bits, they hurt but she doesn’t mean to.

  • Sleeps like the alpha: sprawled out on her back, belly exposed, arms extended.

  • May have been a dragon in her past life; if there is something shiny, she will somehow find it and grab it to play with it even if you think you hid it.

  • Loves to play with balls or other small prey like toys.

  • Talks to birds a lot through the window.

  • You may wake up with her sleeping on you, even if it’s really hot.

Bao Bao (豹豹)

  • Will follow you everywhere like a little shadow

  • Obsessed with freeze dried minnows

  • NEEDS to be in the bathroom with you

  • Really enjoys watching Chinese dramas, especially period pieces that take place during the Tang Dynasty (not dubbed)

  • Enjoys full back scratches and kicker toys with silvervine over catnip

  • Gets wild zoomies that will send him everywhere

  • Will destroy any plant he can find

  • Is obsessed with fluffy cats and using them as pillows/cushions

  • Wants to be carried briefly and upright so that he can get a better view of things only

Chihiro (千尋)

  • Expert at hiding, pretty much nocturnal

  • Twice as silky smooth as her siblings, unexplained why this is

  • Will bolt at the slightest movement for no reason

  • Has unexplained concern for police sirens, fire department sirens seem to be alight

  • Does not like to be held, but loves to be cuddled and requests full body rubs as she lays in between your legs in the evening.

  • Very sweet meows, but don’t be fooled as she doesn’t want to be pet unless she comes to you.

  • More independent; better in backpacks and has completed airplane travel to Seattle Washington for short stay during an adoption trip.
