Our Team
We are a small team, but we are passionate about making whatever positive changes where we can!
Mai Nguyễn
Founder and current board President, Mai is an Oakland resident and cat lady that hopes to make a difference where ever possible.
With a background in international development, community service, business development, and research biology, she wants to apply her varied background to Bow Tie Panther’s development so that someone who has been more directly impacted by incarceration can take over a robust organization.
This is what she does in her spare time, but if she has extra time she enjoys being by the ocean, eating yummy food, and catching up with her friends overseas.

TreasurerGuide Us To Thrive
This unique organization was borne from a societal need that is far from that. We are building a future where cities are places where cats and returning citizens can thrive, directly empowered by the collective efforts of their fellow community members.
We need leaders with the expertise, commitment, and compassion who share this vision to help guide our path.
